So I was wandering around the web, avoiding housework. Actually, all work and came upon Angela Barrow's featured artist.
A lovely surprise.

Knitting with Silk Hankies
Silk hankies peel apart in layers.

So, from similar in colour to this...

I began to knit...

I wanted to see how far I could get...

And just kept going. I kept pulling from the hankie, smoothing with my fingers, trying to keep the fibre even. It is easy, and soooo smooth and soft. I'm not sure what I will do with it but I know this wont end up in a drawer.

About knitting....

I can knit if I absolutely have to. But I don't, because others do it so much better than me. Check this lovely scarf out at Inspired.
I have also learnt from this amazing blog that you can knit directly from silk hankies!! Kid you not. So I am waiting for a customer of mine to send me a photo of this marvel, I think she bought Rose Quartz hankies to have A go with. Back to the dyeing shed for me, ho hum...
